Dee- Miller- I have been a nurse for 32 years, specializing in Occupational Health for the past 15 years. I currently work at Sugarland Walk In Clinic.
Before working in Occupational Health, I worked as a nurse in emergency medicine and urgent care settings. It was through the urgent care setting that I became interested in workplace injuries. That led to a position as a Case Manager. As a Case Manager, I worked closely with employees as well as employers and safety officers, learning about Workman’s Compensation, OSHA and MSHA regulations.
My goal as an Occupational Health Specialist, is to help employers and employees navigate the hiring process through pre-employment physicals, drug/alcohol policies and collections, and post-accident situations with Worker’s Compensation. My department’s goal is to be as comprehensive as possible, offering services that the surrounding industry needs. I realize that industry wants a “one stop shop” and they want it done in a timely manner.
